Industrial design is one of the most awesome, creative disciplines of our age. Industrial design encompasses the skills of dealing simultaneously with many levels of complexity. Function, materials, processes, customer values, aesthetics, production economics and marketing trends all go into the melting pot of industrial design. At the end of this mind-boggling process, the finished design has to exude simplicity and the art of the obvious.
Anyone who even dares to take part in the industrial process deserves a prize. Most creative processes are built on reducing the challenges to single point solutions. Industrial design juggles with them all and mostly all at the same time. Having said that, the design team of a company is often hidden behind a wall of anonymity. It's quite a paradox. However GDA is committed to realising that industrial design and the designers involved get the recognition that is their due.
The GDA design seeks to award some of the most exciting design products of our age. Whether that is a smart phone, a bulldozer, a chair, a robot, a health care product or whatever. Making a change and in improvement to our world is the most important contribution we can make. A new take on products for climate crisis reduction, for lean production, for new trends. A finished product, a new introduction and even a concept prototype. Come with your ideas and let GDA takes them into our care.
So send in your work, your finished products, your ideas, your concepts. Let us know your thinking and how they affect people. Check out the GDA ID product Design Award here.
The deadline for the PRODUCT DESIGN AWARD is the 9th of April 2022 at 09.00 UTC - Coordinated Universal Time. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing your application.
