Thinking Urban, Denmark
Seascape is a visionary project addressing the urgent challenges of climate change and rising sea levels in Holland and the Friesian Islands. As oceans encroach upon traditional landscapes, Seascape reimagines living spaces by creating vertical sea villages—sustainable, self-sufficient communities built offshore.
These innovative sea villages will mirror the functionality of conventional towns, offering a vibrant mix of homes, offices, schools, kindergartens, shops, and workspaces. The vertical design ensures a compact, efficient use of space, fostering a sense of community while maintaining proximity to the mainland.
Powering these villages will be entirely sustainable. Tidal wave turbines integrated into the towers' bases will harness the ocean's energy, providing clean, renewable electricity. Economically, the model thrives on low site costs and high-density living, making Seascape an affordable and forward-thinking solution for coastal regions at risk.
Seascape ensures that the land remains the land, while the sea becomes a place of security, innovation, and sustainable living.
