The iBus Kaohsiung Bus Real-time Dynamic Service represents a comprehensive upgrade of the city’s public transport system, specifically addressing the needs of seniors and visually impaired passengers. Through in-depth interviews and user testing, the design team identified and implemented key features such as voice announcements and optimized operational processes, enhancing both commuting and sightseeing experiences. The ‘Waiting Mode’ feature, which uses visual and auditory cues, significantly reduces uncertainty during waits, improving overall convenience.
iBus includes a ‘Waiting Mode’ with audio-visual cues to alleviate the anxiety of waiting, and an enhanced user interface with improved readability and universal friendly icons. These features ensure that all users, particularly those with special needs, can access essential information easily. The universal icons are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, aiding passengers in various contexts.
